BCICS is a research institute located within the University of Victoria.
Held this year in Banff, Alberta.
The Institute of Co-operative Studies is the only national co-operative event that contributes to the development of leadership across organizations and sectors within a co-operative and credit union context.
The Institute has been held approximately every eighteen months since 1983. It is an important program managed by the Canadian Co-operative Association on behalf of member organizations to foster, develop and enhance leadership across the co-operative and credit union system. Each Institute has focused on relevant and timely topics that are important for the co-operative and credit union system and that contribute to the development of leadership. Topics such as the nature of leadership, organizational culture, organizational renewal, strategic alliances, paradigm shifts, women in co-operatives and board/management relationships, represent core areas that have been explored. These topics have been drawn from experience and knowledge of other Canadian management/leadership seminars, institutes and schools, literature reviews on topics of relevance and from surveys of member organizations' needs and objectives.
