Out of the Ashes: Fundraiser for Brazil Co-op

The Community-Based Research Laboratory-University of Victoria, would like to invite you to:

"Out of the Ashes" Fundraiser
November, 21st @ 7pm
@ the Cornestone Café, 1301 Gladstone Ave. Fernwood.

This event is to raise funds for a recycler's cooperative (Coopercose) in Brazil.

Recently, their recycling depot and infrastructure burned down. The co-op is part of a network of organizations in the São Paulo region that organize informal recyclers (who collect recyclable material on a door-to-door basis – a sustainable form of community-based waste management. The network is supported by the Participatory Sustainable Waste Management project (www.pswm.uvic.ca), a partnership between the University of Victoria and the University of São Paulo.

Tickets will be on sale at the door for $10.00. Come and enjoy an evening with Latin and Indian fusion music.
