Joy Emmanuel, BA, BEd, MA Sociology

With BCICS: Jan 2005 - Present

Joy joined BCICS in January of 2005 when she moved to B.C. from N.S. Before joining BCICS, she taught Sociology part-time at St Mary's University in Halifax, N.S. for 13 years and conducted community oriented research for over 14 years. In 1998, she started Quantum Research and Consulting. Joy was a founding member of the Nova Scotia branch of the Canadian Center for Policy Alternatives. She has also undertaken training in adult education and holds certificates in Educational Design and Transformational Leadership. In all her work, Joy's primary interest is to contribute to a more just, caring and sustainable world.

Joy's main projects at BCICS include: Best Practices in Co-op Development, B.C. Co-operatives in the New Economy, and Co-operatives and the Pursuit of Peace.
